OpenGLis said that you need a vulkan compatible hardware to use it, at least if you want good performance but there are workarounds if your hardware doesnt support vulkan instead using OpenGL there is a known problem if your games are in a drive that worked on windows the file format of the disk are NTFS and this file format are known to be problematic if you play games from that drive I Got 600 FPS once (for 20 secs) with my GT710 (1gb) on a 100 max cap server something is holding linux performance back, i know there is an error, i got 2x a lot more performance under certain conditions. If you have your game in a hdd like me and changed from windows to linux the game probably wont work directly If you are ofter tunr cosmetics off, in linux there are almost no performance drops
Linux will run better than any other if you know how to tunne it with your needs. "Linux is better if you don't mind about your time" that's the truth, you are the support here, most of the time things that were made for windows wont run on linux out of the box. , Loading time is faster, you don't get stuttering and HDD spikes, restarting you pc is faster, the gaming on Linux feels like you were gaming on a really top tier pc even if you don't have one. (yes native apps, but apps not made for linux will have a perf degradation that will leave the performance pair to windows)
Why use Linux? its just better (even with Linux Native), first of all Network is more stable
